BARRY AICP INTERIM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR _ ~ ST'9 COUK� DATE: September 11, 1997 SUBJECT: Contract for Completion of Environmental Impact Report for the Stone Valley Oaks Environmental Impact Report SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS Authorize the Interim Community Development Director or designee to execute on behalf of the County, the following amendments to the contract with Malcolm Carpenter Associates: A. Increase the payment limit from $53 , 980. 00 to $55, 830. 00, for services not to exceed $55, 830 . 00. B. Extend the term of the contract from January 31, 1998 to June 30, 1998 . FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact to the County. The cost of preparation of the Environmental Impact Report is paid for by the developer. The developer also pays an administrative fee (equivalent to 30% of the contract cost) for contract oversight. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS The Community Development Department contracted with Malcolm Carpenter Associates in June of 1997 to prepare the Stone Valley Oaks Environmental Impact Report. The approval would authorize the contract amendment to be adequately funded and allow services. to continue through June 30, 1998.
