September 25, 1997 Mark DeSaulnier, Chairman Board of Supervisors Contra Costa County 651 Pine Street Martinez CA 94553 Dear Mr De Saulnier: I am writing about the unsafe condition at Greenbrook Court in Danville next to the footpath along the San Ramon Creek. The embankments of the creek have already been eroded to the extent that some 200 feet of the footpath has been closed. The County and its flood control district is responsible to keep the streams and flood control channels in a safe conditions. This includes the above mentioned situation. You have not done so despite repeated requests from various parties. This is to put you on notice that if the footpath and parts of the adjacent private properties are washed away in the near future you will be one of the parties who will be held liable for any damage, injury and loss of property that may occur. Would you please take action to correct the situation immediately. Sincerely, VLADO BEVC cc: Les Leale, Director Greenbrook Homes Association 421 Saint Norbert Drive Danville, CA 94526
