Martinez,Executive Director DATE: October 7, 1997 SUBJECT: ONE-YEAR LEASE RENEWAL FOR CONTRA COSTA CONFLICT RESOLUTION SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPROVE one year lease renewal with the Contra Costa Conflict Resolution Agency and AUTHORIZE the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa to enter into a one year Lease Renewal with the Contra Costa Conflict Resolution Agency, located at the Central Waiting List Office in Concord,as stated in the attached Lease Renewal. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This Lease will provide income for the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND The Contra Costa Conflict Resolution Agency was in need of office space and approached the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa to see if we could provide space to lease. The Housing Authority has space at our Central Waiting List Office which we were able to offer for lease.This lease has been in effect since February 15, 1995. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Should the Board of Commissioners elect not to authorize the Executive Director to enter into the one year Lease Renewal with the Contra Costa Conflict Resolution Agency,they would have to go to the expense of relocating and the Housing Authority would lose the annual income produced by the lease. ATTESTED /T77 PHIL BATCHEL R,CLEkK OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AND COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR i F BY DEPUTY ;onfres.board.leases RENEWAL OF LEASE THIS SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT made and entered into this 1st day of NOVEMBER , 1997 , by and between the HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, hereinafter referred to as the "Authority", And CONTRA COSTA CONFLICT RESOLUTION-, hereinafter to be referred to as the "Agency": WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, by lease agreement between the parties hereto, dated JANUARY 10, 1995 , the Authority leased to Agency the right and privilege of occupying space in the 2099-D Arnold Industrial Way, Concord of the Authority; and WHEREAS, the Agency desires and the Authority is willing that such Lease be renewed for the term of one (1) year. NOW, THEREFORE, the Authority for and in consideration of the promises and covenants in the aforesaid lease, and other valuable consideration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hereby agrees that said lease shall be, and it hereby is, renewed beginning NOVEMBER 1, 1997 to OCTOBER 31, 1998 . The Agency hereby covenants and agrees that during the course of the renewal period the Agency shall perform and be bound by all of the covenants and conditions contained in said lease agreement of JANUARY 10, 1995 . IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have set their hands the day and year first hereinabove set forth.
