Considering your busy schedules, perhaps a date in late February would be feasible. Enclosed is a proposal which was unanimously supported by our cities: and chambers of corrinnerce, A subcommittee has been authorized to coordinate the tour with your board, the chambers of commerce, and local business groups. Recycled Paper To: West Contra Costa Mayors From: Councilmember Sharon Brown, City of San Pablo Date: January 6, 1997 * * * * * * * * * * * * * PROPOSAL FOR COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE NEWLY-SEATED CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 1. Coordinate a morning date (decided by the Board) with Supervisor Rogers for late February. Invite the Board, etc. to attend a tour and briefing of West Contra Costa hosted by West County Cities and chambers of commerce. (We need to get everyone in the same room at the same time.) 2. 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. - Breakfast. Coordinate with a local business to host a continental breakfast, to be held on their premises. (This will take the "politics" out of the morning,) 3. 30-minute briefing by Supervisor Rogers to other Board members regarding the purpose of the meeting, the tour, and an outline of some of our concerns. 4. 9:30 to 11 :00 a.m. - Bus tour of West Contra Costa areas (to be coordinated with the cities and chambers of commerce). City council members, staff, and chamber of commerce members will accompany the Board on the tour. We will also invite Assembly Member Dione Archer. A regular-sized bus (such as the one we used for the Parkway tour) will be used. One speaker shall provide information and directions. Packets can be handed out during and after the tour (information shall be compiled by the cities, Supervisor Rogers, and the chambers of commerce). The cost of the tour shall be absorbed by the cities, and by donations from the chambers of commerce. A committee of three has been formed to work with Supervisor Rogers.
