Dear Ms. Davis:
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors wholeheartedly supports the application of the
Arts and Culture Commission of Contra Costa County (AC5) to your Council's State-Local
Partnership Program for funding.
Our Board is very supportive of the Arts and Culture Commission. We established AC5 in 1994
as an official county commission and allocated seed money from our general fund to begin its
work. Now in its fourth year, we highly value the Commission's endeavors to increase the
public's appreciation of and engagement with the arts among this county's culturally-diverse
population. We will continue to support its ongoing efforts to develop collaborative ventures
within the public sector.
The success the Commission has enjoyed these past few years is due in large part to the
funding it received from your Council. We again request your financial support by renewing
AC5's application for funding.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mark DeSaulnier, Chair
