MEETING OF THE- BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
SEPTEMBER 9, 1997
Chair Mark DeSaulnier convened the meeting of the Board of
Supervisors this day at 9 : 04 A.M. in the Board Chambers, Room
107, of the County Administration Building, 651 Pine Street,
Martinez, California. The Clerk called the roll, and Supervisors
present were :
Supervisor Gayle B. Uilkema, District II
Supervisor Mark DeSaulnier, District IV
Supervisor Joe Canciamilla, District V
The Chair then adjourned the meeting to Closed Session in
Room 105 of the County Administration Building pursuant to the
Closed Session Agenda attached.
At 10 :19 A.M. with all five Supervisors present, the Board
reconvened in its Chambers . Victor Westman, County Counsel,
announced that the Board in Closed Session, by a unanimous vote
with all five Supervisors present, had approved a settlement
agreement in the case of Mangini v. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco
Company, et al, Sup. Ct . No. 939359 .
The Board then proceeded with its Agenda.
The Board at 12 : 05 P.M. , adjourned to Closed Session
pursuant to the Closed Session Agenda attached.
At 2 : 10 P.M. with three Supervisors present, (Supervisors
Rogers and Gerber, absent) , the Board reconvened in its Chambers .
The Chair announced that no reportable action was taken in Closed
Session. The Board then proceeded with its Agenda.
