SUBJECT: BUCHANAN FIELD AIRPORT - CONSENT TO THE SALE AND ASSIGNMENT OF THE
SHERATON CONCORD HOTEL LEASEHOLD INTEREST
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE County's consent to the sale and to the assignment of the ground lease between Contra Costa
County and Theodore H. Kruttschnitt, III and Catherine M. Kruttschnitt, as assignors, to Servico Concord,
Inc., a California corporation, as assignee, for the premises better known as the Sheraton Concord Hotel at
the Buchanan Field Airport, and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to EXECUTE, on behalf of the
County, all documents related to such County's consent, Concord area.
II. Financial Impact:
There will be no financial impact from this action.

III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The County's tenants, Theodore H. Kruttschnitt, III and Catherine M. Kruttschnitt,have decided to sell and
assign their leasehold interest in the ground lease underlying the Sheraton Concord Hotel at the Buchanan
Field Airport, to Servico Concord,Inc.,a California corporation (Servico). The ground lease provides that
the leasehold cannot be sold or assigned without County's prior written consent. The County's tenants, and
Servico, have provided evidence that Servico is a viable entity to assume the leasehold interest as the
County's tenant. This action.provides for County's consent to such sale and assignment by County's
tenants.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
The sale and assignment of the ground lease between County and Theodore H. Kruttschnitt, III and
Catherine M. Kruttschnitt will not be consented to by County.
