BARRY, AICP INTERIM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR DATE: SEPTEMBER 9, 1997 SUBJECT: Contract for Condition Compliance for the Shell, Tosco Avon-Refinery and Tosco at the San Francisco Area, Rodeo Refinery (Formerly Unocal) Clean Fuels Projects SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS Authorize the Director of Community Development or designee to execute on behalf of the County, the following contract amendments with Debra Sanderson- a. Shell and Tosco-Avon Refinery Contract increase by $11,500.00 from $88,596.90 for services not to exceed $100,096.90. b. Tosco at the San Francisco Area, Rodeo Refinery (formerly Unocal) contract increase by $12,000.00 from $53,023.30 for services not to exceed $65,023.30. FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact to the County. The cost for mitigation monitoring is paid for by Shell and Tosco. Shell and Tosco also pays an administrative fee (equivalent to 30% of the contract cost) for contract oversight. The Board over the past three years has authorized additional contract amendments to continue the monitoring through June of 1998.
