Dear Chairman DeSaulnier and Members of The Board:
The Contra Costa Chapter of United We Stand America has been informed of the
County's intent to do an audit of Richmond Sanitary Services and its many
affiliates. Comparing its rates and services with what residents pay and receive
in other areas leads us to believe that auditing and genuine rate regulation of
Richmond Sanitary are long overdue.
We urge the Board to oversee the auditing function to ascertain that a bona fide,
all inclusive examination of financial records, documents, tax forms, etc. is
accomplished. We feel that is necessary to establish the criteria for what garbage
removal rates should be.
I Sincerely,
William D. Shea
Coordinator
