SUBJECT: Authorize Execution of JTPA Title III Contracts In Support of East Bay Works One Stop
Center Project
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize the Executive Director, Contra Costa County Private Industry Council , to execute on
behalf of the County Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) 40% Title III contracts with the following
three entities for the period December 1, 1997 through June 30, 1998 subject to the maximum
payment limits listed.

II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None. 100 percent grant funded.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS:
A Consortium of the Alameda, Oakland, Richmond and Contra Costa County Service Delivery
Areas was awarded a $3 million JTPA Title Ill Governor's Discretionary 40% Grant to establish 16
east bay one stop employment and training centers in which the State Employment Development
Department Employment Services staff, JTPA staff and other public and private community entities
would coordinate employment and training activities through co-location and electronic linkages.
These three contracts are for the full service implementation of the Regional One Stop Grant
supporting electronic infrastructure.
