The Health Services Department is seeking funds to support emergency shelter operation and support
services for homeless adults at the Central County Shelter in Concord and enable the County to operate this
shelter at capacity on a year round basis. City of Concord support is being requested for the many homeless
Concord residents who use this shelter program annually. During FY93/94 and FY 94/95, 49% of the
homeless individuals served by the Central County Shelter were residents of Concord. In FY 95/96, 47%
of the shelter residents identified themselves as Concord residents.
