`G WMM$S, Save Wount Dia6fo was forced on Decem6er 7, 1071, and is cele6rating its 25th
Anniversary this year, and
WRNMAS, Wount Dia6fo is Contra Costa County's central and most 6eautifuf landmark and
includes the County's most important recreationalopen space andsignifwant wifdltfe ha6itat;and,
WWXETJAS,Save Mount Dia6fo, with its Board of Directors,staff and 5500 members, educates the
pu6Cu about threats to the mountain, acquires fang monitors land use planning on private land, restores
ha6itat and reintroduces rare species, 6uifds traits and supports recreational opportunities, works to insure that
parkmaintenance needs are met;and
'h JM404, Save Wount Dia6fo has helped in raising mixiions of dollars in pu6& and private
funding to acquire and expand pu6Cu:open space;and has wo*d cooperatively with the 6usiness community
and within the land use arena to preserve land when development is propose4-and,
'W1f TJW, Save Wount Dia6lo, though its advocacy and cooperative work with all sectors of the
community's successfully achieved preservation of much of Wount Oia6fo, helping to expand pu6Cu open space
on and around 9ltt. Oia6fo from 6,877 acres to more than 53,000 acres inAding an increase in Wount Dia6lo
State(Park's size from 6,877 acres to more the 19,000 acres,greatly 6enefiting the area's residents;and
U&MyAS, in those same 25 years and with the groups support,five regionafparks, a number of
city open spaces and pu6Cu watershed hoOngs have been created on and aroundWount Dia6fo,and signifwant
progress has 6een made in connecting these various open spaces with wd fe and recreationafcorridors;and
U E46S, there are thousands of acres of threatened private lands on and around Wount D a6lo
andsave Wount Oia6fo continues its work and
