RECOMMENDATION:
APPOINT to the vacant "Physician" seat on the Managed Care Commission, for a
three-year term ending August 31, 1999, replacing Dr. Kent Sack:

BACKGROUND:
The Managed Care Commission is a fifteen-member Commission which does long-
range planning and policy formulation for the Contra Costa Health Plan, studies and
makes recommendations on operational objectives, policies and procedures, revised
services, product development, marketing and data gathering priorities for the
Contra Costa Health Plan.
One of the seats is for a physician. Dr. Kent Sack, who occupied that seat has
resigned. r The Managed Care Commission has recommended the appointment of
Dr. Rigall to replace Dr. Sack. We have reviewed his resume and agree with the
Commission that he is an outstandingly well qualified individual who will bring his
broad background in the medical profession to the work of the Commission. We are,
therefore, pleased to join the Commission in recommending Dr. Rigall's appointment
to the Managed Care Commission.

spirited and who want to make CCHP an outstanding health care plan. The capacities listed below will be used in making the
choices for the appointments. These are in no way prerequisites for a position on the MCC, but they do indicate valuable areas of
