APPROVE THE 20th AMENDMENT FOR KAPLAN/MCLAUGLIN/DIAZ
MERRITHEW MEMORIAL HOSPITAL REPLACEMENT PROJECT (WH580B)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . RECOMMENDATION
1 . APPROVE: the Twentieth Amendment of the Consulting Services
Agreement with Kaplan/McLaughlin/Diaz, and AUTHORIZE the
County Administrator or his designee to execute the Amendment
2 . AUTHORIZE: the County Administrator or his designee to issue
written authorizations for extra work, provided that the
cumulative total extra cost for all such authorizations shall
not exceed $25, 000 . 00 .
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT
This Amendment increases the Architect' s payment limit by up to
$34, 410 for services required to respond to changes . Funds in the
capital account established for the project are sufficient to
cover the amount encumbered by this Amendment from bond proceeds
specified to the project .
III . BACKGROUND
This change represents three extra services . authorizations . The
major change required revisions to imaging equipment layout,

III . BACKGROUND (continued)
utilities and structural attachment to coordinate with the County
purchased GE equipment . These changes are the result of equipment
changes due to technology changes since the time the imaging
department was designed a few years back. In addition, this
amendment includes the engineering required to relocate one of the
utility columns in one of the special procedures operating rooms and
a study to add a loading dock and MRI facility.
