BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on October 15, 19% by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Rogers, Bishop, DeSaulnier, Torlakson and Smith

ABSTAIN: None
SUBJECT: Appointment of Alternate to Supervisor Tom Torlakson,
the County' s Representative to the General Assembly,
Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) .
Following receipt of a letter from Kathi Carkhuff,
Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) , requesting
confirmation that Supervisor Torlakson is the County' s delegate
to the General Assembly and that the alternate position is
vacant, and following Board discussion of the above matter, IT IS
BY THE BOARD ORDERED that Supervisor Jim Rogers is APPOINTED as
General Assembly alternate to Supervisor Tom Torlakson, the
County' s representative to the General Assembly, Association of
Bay Area Governments (ABAG) .

I am writing to let you know that ABAG's Fall 1996 General Assembly is scheduled for Friday,
November 22, 1996 at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. We have sent a copy of the enclosed
"save the date" announcement to all elected officials, and ask that you enter the date on your
jurisdiction's official calendar.
I would like to confirm your county's representation: our records currently show Supervisor Tom A.
Torlakson as your General Assembly delegate, and that your alternate position is vacant. If this is
correct, please indicate so on the form below. If not, we request that you arrange for appointments to
be made at your next possible board meeting, and that you notify us of the appointments by October
