SUBJECT: Request for transfer of Community Development Block Grant funds
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS (S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
AUTHORIZE and DIRECT the Auditor-Controller to carry forward
unexpended CDBG funds allocated to the Private Industry Council' s
(PIC) Small Business Management Assistance Program from FY 93/94 in
the amount of $17, 504 . 19 (Project #19 -18) and FY 94/95 in the amount
of $642 . 36 (project #21-2015) to the current year Small Business
Management Assistance Program (96 -11 ED) . The total amount to be
carried forward is $18, 146 .55 .
AUTHORIZE and DIRECT the. Auditor-Controller to carry forward
unexpended CDBG funds allocated to the PIC' s Micro Loan Program from
FY 1994/95 in the amount . of $9 , 000 (project #20-18) and from FY
1995/96 in the amount of $10, 000 (project # 21-19) to the current year
Micro-Loan. Program (96-18 ED. The total amount to be carried forward
is $19 , 000 .
FISCAL IMPACT
No General Funds are involved (U. S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development funds) .

BACKGROUND AND REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION:
These funds will be used to continue the PIC' s Small Business
Management Assistance and Micro Loan Programs. These program work
in conjunction to provide technical management training and small
business grants/loans respectively to businesses and business
start-ups owned by low-and moderate-income urban county residents .
The continuation of these programs will assist in the creation and
expansion of jobs for low-and moderate income individuals .
