Contra Costa County
` ,Y&P,EAS, quality health care is an important concern of the citizens of the County of
Contra Costa County;and
WWTP,EAS, affordable and accessible medical care is essential for the well-being of all
citizens; and
`WJFEWEAS,physician assistants are medically trained professionals who provide preventive
health care andquality medicalcare to mif'ons ofAmericans throughout thisgreat country;and
`WJ EW�E,AS, physician assistants have been caring for patients in rural towns, urban
communities, and in the uniformedservices for 28 years;and
` ,9&P,,EAS, the physician assistant profession continues to grow in number and in pu6lic
respect; and
U,9&REAS,physician assistants increasingly are being recognized as important members of
the public health delivery team; and
WjYT jEAS,physician assistants around this country and in ourgreat County will celebrate
October 6, 1996 as National(Physicians Assistant Day, and
'WJ&P,EAS, the physician assistants in Contra Costa County deserve our
heartfelt thanks for the medical care they provide throughout the year.

of Contra Costa, California, does hereby proclaim Sunday, October 6, 1996 as "(Physician Assistant
Day"in Contra Costa County.
BE IT FVR99&RXESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors acknowledges and commends
the outstanding dedication andefforts to the physician assistant profession.
