SUBJECT: Approval of Contract #22-592 with
California Public Health Foundation
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee
(Wendel Brunner, M.D. ) , to execute on behalf of the County,. Contract
#22-592 with California Public Health Foundation in the amount of
$42 , 300, for the period from September 1, 1996 through August 31,
1997, to provide consultation and technical assistance to the
Department with regard to the Breast Cancer Partnership Program.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by State funds. No County funds are
required.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
The Department has received a grant from the University of
California, Davis for the Contra Costa Breast Cancer Partnership
Program. California Public Health Foundation operates the Bay Area
Cancer Coalition, and is uniquely available to assist the Department
in establishing linkages, databases, and referral services for low-
income Contra Costa women.
Approval of Contract #22-592 will allow California Public Health
Foundation to provide services through August 31, 1997 .
