Financiallmpact: There is no impact on the General Fund. The proposed landscaping assessment district would pay the entire cost of maintaining the landscape improvements. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: New subdivision developments are required, through Conditions of Approval, to install frontage and/or median island landscaping improvements (i.e. trees, shrubs, irrigation equipment). Annexation of the above subdivisions and development plans into the above landscape assessment zones provides the mechanism for collection of assessments, which enables the County to maintain these frontage and/or median island landscape improvements. Assessments are based on projected maintenance costs and will vary from zone to zone depending on the type and amount of improvements to be maintained. Assessments may be adjusted periodically for inflation and adjustments are not subject to CEQA. IV. Consequences of Negative Action Delay in approving the activity may jeopardize the landscape maintenance funding. Harvey E.
