SUBJECT: Tax Defaulted Property - Bay Point
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTfFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
ADOPT Resolution objecting to the sale of tax defaulted property in the Bay Point
Redevelopment Project Area, requesting deletion from sealed bid and public auction sale lists,
and requesting transfer to the Redevelopment Agency.
FISCAL IMPACT
None. Transfer to the Agency will involve payment of the minimum bid price stipulated by the
County Tax Collector.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS

The County Tax Collector has notified the Agency of its intended sale of tax defaulted property
in the Bay Point Redevelopment Project Area. The property is located in the "Northtown"
area, the neighborhood targeted by the Redevelopment Agency for a significant revitalization
program. Acquisition of this property will permit the Agency to better facilitate spot infill
development.

SUBJECT:

WHEREAS,the Contra Costa County Redevelopment Agency has received notice from the Tax Collector of
Contra Costa County of the sale of tax defaulted properties located in the Bay Point Redevelopment Project
Area; and
WHEREAS,the property in question is specifically described as Assessors's Parcel No.
096-020-081; and
WHEREAS,in furtherance of the objectives and purposes of the Redevelopment Agency,the Agency has
determined that the property is vacant and required for future Redevelopment purposes;and
WHEREAS,the public need and necessity require transfer,in fee,at the minimum bid price plus costs,by the
Tax Collector to the Redevelopment Agency in accordance with Revenue and Taxation Code,Chapter 8.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency,that the Agency Chair is hereby
authorized and directed to expend the funds and effect the transfer for Agency purposes. The Redevelopment
Agency APPROVES the AGREEMENT to Purchase Tax-Defaulted Property between the State of California
and the Redevelopment Agency and AUTHORIZES the Deputy Director-Redevelopment to execute the
Agreement.
