ACCEPT the resignation of Victor Mena from the Loan and Grant Review Panel, DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to apply the Board's policy for filling the vacancy, and REFER the vacancy to the Internal Operations Committee. 3. AUTHORIZE staff from the Building Inspection Department to recruit for a replacement for Mr. Mena and for Mr. Bautista, whose term expired December 31 , 1995 and who has asked not to be reappointed, and return their recommendations to the Internal Operations Committee. Two of these individuals wish to be reappointed, their attendance his been good and our Committee sees no reason not to reappoint them. Mr. Victor Mena has resigned his seat and Mr. Bernie Bautista has asked not to be reappointed. Mr. Jennings and Ms. Stevenson have satisfactory attendance for the past term. Mr. Jennings was appointed to the panel on June 19, 1989. Ms. Stevenson was appointed to the panel on December 12 , 1978. Per our conversation, Bernie Bautista has retired his position as a citizen representative and Victor Mena has retired his position as a finance field representative. Jennings and Ida Stevenson be reappointed to the Community Development Rehabilitation Loan Review Panel for a period of two years beginning January 1, 1996. Their extended term would expire December 31, 1997. Mr. Jennings and Ms. Stevenson have given their verbal commitment for reappointment. Both members have satisfactory attendance for the past term. The Neighborhood Preservation Program staff and the Loan Review Panel have a good working relationship and we see no reason why their reappointments should not be made. In addition, two members of the Loan Review Panel have retired their finance field positions in the panel due to health reasons. We are taking steps to replace them. ESTABLISHED: May 3, 1977 by Board Order APPOINTED BY: Board of Supervisors TERM: Two years ending December 31 FUNCTIONS: To evaluate and approve housing rehabilitation grants and loans upon recommendation of the Building Inspection Department, the purpose of the program, funded by the Federal Housing and Community Development Act, is to arrest deterioration of older residential areas by eliminating blight and correcting health and safety hazards.
