SUBJECT: Approval of Mental Health Specialist (Novation) Contract #24-628-6
with Nancy E. Ebbert, M.D.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee
(Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Mental Health
Specialist (Novation) Contract #24-628-6 with Nancy E. Ebbert, M.D. ,
in the amount of $101,400, for the period July 1, 1996 through
June 30, 1997, for psychiatric services to County patients at the
Richmond 24th Street Crisis Clinic.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded by County/Realignment funding, off-set by
Medi-Cal, Medicare, private insurance and patient fee collections,
and is included in the Department's Fiscal Year Budget.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental
and Mental Health Specialists to provide specialized professional
services which are not otherwise available in its hospital and
health centers. On October 3 , 1995, the BoaFd of Supervisors
approved Mental Health Specialist Contract #24-628-5 with Nancy E.
Ebbert, M.D. to provide psychiatric services to County patients at
Richmond 24th Street Crisis Clinic for the period from July 1, 1995
through June 30, 1996.
Novation Contract #24-628-6 replaces the automatic six-month
extension of the previous contract and allows the Contractor to
continue providing psychiatric services to County patients through
June 30, 1997.
