RE: December 17, 1996, Consent Item C.103 Original Documents
At the December 17, 1996, Board of Supervisors meeting, Consent Item C.103
regarding a request to authorize the Contra Costa County Fire Protection
District to participate in the California Surplus Property Program was deleted
from consideration.
Therefore, we are returning the original board order, the original resolution
and the original assurance of compliance to your office for resubmission to the
Board at a later date, should you so desire.

SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION FOR CONTRA COSTA COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
PARTICIPATION IN THE CALIFORNIA SURPLUS PROPERTY PROGRAM
Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification
RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE California State Department of General Services Resolution
designating certain District employees as authorized representatives to
participate in the State Surplus Property Program and AUTHORIZE Chair, Board
of Supervisors to execute Program Compliance form.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District is eligible to acquire.
federal surplus property through the California State Agency for Surplus
Property. In order to participate in the program, the State requires that
the governing board of the participant designate specific employees as
authorized representatives.
Completing the recommended process will enable the District to acquire
valuable equipment at little or no cost.
