In comparing our water usage to the same period last year we used 18,700 Gallons less yet our bill roughly doubled. Also compared to the period of 5/95 to 7/95, our gallonage for period 7/25 to 9/26 rose 36,652 gallons, (+[) 28%,yet our bill rose (+/-) 123%! You must realize but obviously do not concern yourselves about increased heat during the summer months in the Walnut Creek, Danville versus customers west of the Caldecott Tunnel. You are arbitrarily punishing Diablo Valley residents in a most discriminatory manner which is unfair! How on earth do you justify such fiscally irresponsible actions in light of our honest attempts to conserve as exhibited by comparing '94 vs '95 usage? I am also incensed over EBMUD's constant verbiage relative to inadequate water to supply additional development, yet continued development prevails, highways are continually being landscaped and watered and the.most glaring abuse allowed, is the three to four miles of Tassajara Road which is landscaped with lawn and watered accordingly. There are also the numerous public parks and recreation areas also watered, and what occurs when homeowners likewise wish green gardens? Our rates are unjustly doubled beyond reason. November 8, 1995 Mr. John Gioia Page 2 I am forwarding copies of this letter to various agencies with a cover mandating appropriate action on behalf of Diablo Valley residents who are being discriminated against by a_callous, insensitive, wasteful, inefficient and pedestrian public utility.
