Martinez, CA 94553 CONTRA COSTA CO.
Dear Sirs:
Enclosed is a newspaper article concerning Assembly Bill 151 that Assemblyman
Joe Baca succeeded in passing for the homeowners in San Bernardino. As the
article states, other interested communities must enact an ordinance to approve
the use of plastic pipes by Jan. 1, 1996.
1 sincerely hope Contra Costa County is interested in joining the other 49 states in
the use of plastic pipes for all the obvious reasons. I will be building our
retirement home at Lake California in the near future and I will use plastic pipe
even if I am forced to install a dual system to satisfy the copper industry.
With all the planned development for Contra Costa County I encourage you to
take advantage of the two month opportunity to move the county forward so
future buyers can have the advantage of the more economical and safer plumbing
systems. Lead and copper in the drinking water is not a desirable mix, especially
for the children.
For your information, the hardware stores in Northern California carry a full line of
CPVC pipe and fittings. The people are moving faster than the state government, I
believe the government is going down by default. How embarrassing for anyone
that really cares.
Thankyou for your assistance.
Yours truly,
Charles V. Jensen
