HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11141995 - C25 C '�6 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Declaring November 17, ) 1995, as COLLEEN COLL DAY in ) RESOLUTION NO. 95/543 Contra Costa County ) WHEREAS, Colleen Coll has been a Concord City Councilmember since November of 1982, and now after 13 years of service to the City and its residents, she is retiring; and WHEREAS, Colleen's record on the City Council is filled with many significant contributions; and WHEREAS, she was instrumental in securing Bill Graham Presents as the booking agent for the Concord Pavilion, gained consensus to renovate Todos Santos Plaza, and initiated events such as the popular Halloween and the Fourth of July Parades; and WHEREAS, Colleen has also been involved in the decisions to expand the Concord Pavilion to a 12,500 seating capacity venue, to build Waterworld, to develop the Hofmann Foundation's Concord Youth Center, and to establish the Concord Teen Center which focuses on providing alternatives to youth involved with gangs; and WHEREAS, with the assistance of Colleen's leadership, the Concord Police Department was able to add 18 officers to its force, and the Building Permit and Inspection Division was able to improve its customer service; and WHEREAS, she also drafted a benchmark child care ordinance which benefits both service providers and economic development leaders in Concord, and the ordinance has been recognized as a first of its kind in the nation; and WHEREAS, we are all grateful to Colleen for her devoted service to the City of Concord and for her many contributions to improve the quality of life for all our residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors declares November 17, 1995, as COLLEEN COLL DAY in Contra Costa County and wishes her continued success as she enters back into the private sector. PASSED AND ADOPTED ON November 14, 1995, by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
