IN IGNITION OF MARY LOU OLIVER UPON FIER ]
RETIREMENT FROM THE SAN RAMON CRY COUNCIL ] RESOLUTION N0. 95/542
WHEREAS, Mary Lou Oliver has celebrated 12 years of distinguished service to the citizens of San
Ramon, and served on the City of San Ramon Incorporation Study Committee, and
WHEREAS, in the March 1983 Municipal Election,the residents of San Ramon desiring local
control, improved services and better police protection voted to incorporate and become a city, and
WHEREAS, in the March 1983 election, Mary Lou Oliver was one of the five Councilmembers
elected to govern the new city, and was re-elected to Council three times and served as San
Ramon's Mayor three times, and served as Redevelopment Agency Chair 1993-1994.
WHEREAS, Mary Lou Oliver represented San Ramon on the Association of Bay Area Governments,
League of California Cities, Contra Costa County Transportation Authority and Central Contra Costa
Solid Waste Authority, and
WHEREAS, Mary Lou Oliver ably represented San Ramon on the Dougherty Regional Fire Authority
Board during its formative years and served as its chair, and served on the Contra Costa County
General Plan Congress, and
WI-EREAS, Mary Lou Oliver displayed her dedication to the preservation of open space as well as
her love for horses and the outdoors by serving on ROWTA Right of Way Trail Advocates (Iron
Horse Trail) and the Calaveras Trail Committee, and
WHEREAS, Mary Lou Oliver unselfishly volunteered her time and sailboat to be use in fundraising for
charity in support of local schools, et cetera.
NOW,Tl-ERER3RE BE IT RESOLVED.that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does
hemby acknowledge
Mary Lou Oliver
and thank her for her extraordinary contribution to the City of San Ramon and to the
County of Contra Costa, and congratulate her upon her retiremem
PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of those Supervisors present on November 14,
1995.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an action taken and
entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors.
