RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (William Walker, M.D. ) , to execute, on behalf of the County, Standard Agreement #28-577 (State #94-T 0697) with the State Department of Toxic Substances Control, effective January 15, 1995 to January 15, 1997, in the amount of $8, 000, for the purchase of hazardous materials emergency response equipment. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Approval of this agreement will result in a maximum reimbursable amount of $8, 000 of State funding for equipment to enhance the County's Hazardous Materials Incident Response Team. No County funds are required. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: Under Standard Agreement #28-577, the Department will purchase equipment to enhance the County's response capability during hazardous material incidents. Computerized response system will give immediate access to responders regarding hazardous materials inventories, acutely hazardous materials facilities and sensitive receptors locations such as schools, hospitals and day care centers. [Eight sealed/certified copies of this Board Order should be returned 'to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to the State Department of Toxic Substances Control.
