Monoring theAntioch Lions C146
on the Occasion of their 50th Anniversary
WJ&4UAS, the Antioch Lions C146, the first service c146 organized in Antioch, was
chartered on Octo6er 29, 1945,proudTy em6racing the "We Serve"spirit of internationalLionism;
4NXET<M, the Antioch Lions Cl46 cele6rates its 50th Anniversary with justifia6le pride
and spirit. 2Tre Antioch Lions C146 has a long and proud service history and served as a exemplary
part of an international service organization representing 1.5 miQion members worldwide. The cl46
o6jectives include:
7o azate andfaster a spirit of undffstatsft among the peoples of the wo►fd
7o promote the piruiples ofgoodgowmment andczicearhip.
7o w6 an active imterect in ch4c,culturalandsocialwielfare of the community.
7o pvvide a forum for the open drscussion of a!f matter of p fc interest
7o encowage unw minded men and women to semi their community without
personalfaiancutlrtwa 9 andto encourage efficienry andp vmota high ethicalstamdards in
commerce,industry,profeuions,pu6frc word and priciate endeavors
`W.�L T<W, the Antioch Lions C146 has provided outstanding leadership and fuming for
the construction of the Dia6lo Vafley Bfind Center, conducted numerous Mealth Fairs and eye and
hearing exams for East County residents,provided the needy with financial assistance for eye surgery
and other medical6iffs and developed a referral program through the school district for needy children
to receive free eye exams andglasses,
%,Y&9ZW, the c146 has contri6uted to education 6y providing an annual Antioch Lions
C146 scholarship for local Antioch VWh School students, 6y taking an active role in fighting for
educational and prevention programs about alcohol and su6stance a6use, 6y developing the Mary
QZ9cha Chidd Care Center, 6y contri6uting nearly $15,000 and provided volunteer time for the Lions-
Quest program, 6y providing fuming for the Delta Learning.Center,
UV1ftE MU, the Antioch Lions C146 has participated for several years in the Flag Day
program atAntioch schools, churches and non profit organizations 6y providingAmerican fKggs;
%gW,fM, senior citizens have received dedicated service from the Antioch Lions C146
which has provided funds and volunteers for the Annual Antioch Senior Citizens C146 Picnic, 6y
serving as a major donor to support the East County Senior(Day Care ftogram;
%-Y&4t�EAS, the club annuafdy participates in the "Adopt A-Family" ghankwiving and
Christmas program and is a major contri6utor to the 91fai f-a-"h Foundation;
4NJM", the Antioch Lions C146 wiff celebrate their 50th Anniversary of their
Chartering during a special dinner on October 21, 1995,

Contra Costa, Cafifornia, does here6y proclaim Saturday, Octo6er 21, 1995, as "Antioch Lions Clu6
Day" in Contra Costa County on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the cl46's charter and in
recognition of the cl46's outstanding anddedwatedservice to the community.
