January 24, 1995 sr couri`r't • SUBJECT: Reaffirm Existing Policy Regarding Compensation of Planning Commission Members. SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS 1 Reaffirm the current compensation schedule for the County and Regional Planning Commissions until otherwise directed by the Board of Supervisors. FISCAL IMPACT Continued avoidance of expenditure of approximately $16,480 annually. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS By Board Order dated August 11, 1992, the Board of Supervisors opted to retain the Regional Planning Commissions for FY 92-93 , but decided to avoid all monetary costs by deleting stipends and mileage allowance to the Regional Planning Commissions. On December 14, 1993 by adopting Ordinance 93-85, the Board of Supervisors extended the sunset date for the Regional Planning Commissions to October 1, 1995, but did not further address the issue of compensation. Adoption of this recommendation will reaffirm the policy that the Regional Planning Commissions will serve without compensation.
