SUBJECT:. WITHDRAWAL OF REFERRAL FROM THE 1995 INTERNAL OPERATIONS COMMITTEE
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
WITHDRAW from the 1995 Internal Operations Committee and REFER
instead to the 1995 Family and Human Services Committee oversight
of the work of the Juvenile Systems Planning Advisory Committee.
BACKGROUND:
On December 20, 1994, several referrals were withdrawn from the
1995 Internal Operations Committee and were referred instead to the
1995 Family and Human Services Committee. In doing so, one
referral was overlooked which the 1994 Internal Operations
Committee had intended to have referred to the Family and Human
Services Committee. This is the oversight of the Juvenile Systems
Planning Advisory Committee, which has been working very hard for
the past two years on the replacement of the juvenile hall and the
installation of an appropriate continuum of service for juveniles .
It appears to be appropriate and within the scope of the work of
the Family and Human Services Committee to include the work of the
Juvenile Systemsii'Planning Advisory Committee. Therefore, we are
recommending that this referral be transferred from the Internal
Operations Committee to the Family and Human Services Committee.
