Carlson SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Chuck Deutschman) , to execute on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #24-687-1 with Edward C. Carlson, in the amount of $43 , 100, for the period from July 1, 1994 through June 30, 1995, for consultation and technical assistance for the County's Bay Area Services Network (BASN) Project. This contract includes a six-month automatic contract extension through December 31, 1995, in. the amount of $21, 150. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This contract is funded 100% by the State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs. No County match is required. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On January 25, 1994, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-687 with Edward C. Carlson, for the provision of substance abuse treatment services for CDC-approved parolees, referred to as the Bay Area Services Network (BASN) Project. Novation Contract #24-687-1 replaces the six-month automatic extension under the prior contract and will continue Contractor's services through June 30, 1995.
