Honoring Hello Bianco Upon His
Retirement from the Bay Area Rapid
Transit Board of Directors
WWSRS,45, Hello Bianco, a native of Weed, California, moved with his family to Richmond, California, in
1938. He has been a businessman in the Richmond area since 1954, and is an active leader in his community. In addition
to serving on the Richmond City Council, he has been a member of the Richmond Port Commission and the City of
Richmond Personnel Board;
2US�Sr�S, Nallo was appointed to the BART Board of Directors in 1969 by the Contra Costa County
Board of Supervisors and reappointed in 1973;
7e;7P5'SX5, he served as BART Board President in 1974, 1980, 1986 and 1990. In 1973, 1976, 1978 and
1989 he served as Vice-President. He chaired a Special Ways and Means Committee in 1976; served as Chairperson of the
Board's Engineering and Operations Committee, a position he field in 1970, 1981, 1982, 1985 and 1991;
2fl;7,-'SRS,gS, in 1974, Director Bianco was elected by the voters of BART's District 2 as their representative
to the first elected BART Board of Directors. In that election he received the highest number of votes among all 134
candidates running for the nine seats;
W,17W RS>4S, Director Bianco was instrumental in arranging for the first citizens advisory committee to study
extension of the BART rail system within the three BART counties, and he headed up the original committee on the
Pittsburg-Antioch Extension Study;
2UWSRSv45, Director Bianco has also found time to be actively involved in improving the quality of life in
his community serving on the Board of Directors of the Richmond Boys Club of America, the East Bay Chapter of the
National Safety Council and the Salvation Army Advisory Board.
7&;?e5 9X5, Hello and his wife Betty are the proud parents of three children--Connie, Robert and Gary, and
and the doting grandparents of eleven grandchildren.

Costa County, honors Hello Bianco for 25 years of outstanding and dedicated service to the community as the District 2
representative to the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Rapid Transit District and in recognition of his valuable
contributions to.the community;
