In collaboration with Black History month and the fourth anniversary of Civil Code 275, which is now part of the Justice Law, AMARCH (Association for Minority Adolescents in Residential Care Homes) , the statewide African American foster care and group home association that advocates on behalf of African American children and providers, is again requesting information from Contra Costa County, in regards to the placement of African American children in the foster care/group home system in this county. AMARCH would like to be placed on your agenda on February 21st to discuss the placement policy for foster care and, the treatment of African American children in foster care and the providers. 1 . We would like information as to where African American children are placed, in county and out of county, and the extent to which Civil Code 275 is honored. 2 . We would like to know the number of children in the system, their ethnicity, age, city of placement, and I .D. number of each staff person making each placement and their ethnicity (See example of Alameda County form enclosed) . Simmons, Vice President of AMARCH (Association for Minority Adolescents in Residential Care Homes) is also requesting time to make a presentation to the Board of Supervisors on February 21. Our Board will not be meeting on that date.
