HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02141995 - S6 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Mauer of Proclaiming February 14, 1995, ) as CHILDREN IN CHILD CARE DAY ) RESOLUTION NO. 95163 in Contra Costa County ) WHEREAS, there are 2 7,000 children in child care in Contra Costa County each work day; and WHEREAS, child care is an important and necessary part of the economy and the quality of life of a community, providing support for working families and employing 5,000 people in Contra Costa County alone; and WHEREAS, quality child care assists young children in becoming ready for further education; and WHEREAS, quality, affordable child care for every Contra Costa family who needs it can only be achieved through a public/private partnership which includes parents, child care programs, business, community based organizations, and all levels of government, and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County has a long history of supporting the local child care delivery system and will continue to promote and to develop this successful partnership on the behalf of all working families in the county. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors proclaims February 14, 1995, as CHILDREN IN CHILD CARE DAY in Contra Costa County; and BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that we salute those who make it happen--the child care centers, the family child care homes, and the Contra Costa Child Care Council--and encourage all the residents of the county to join us in this tribute.
