The contract covers the service of civil process for the District Attorney Family Support Division. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. There is no net county cost associated with the approval of this request. The total cost is covered by 66% Federal Funding and 34% SEIF (Support Enforcement Incentive Funding) . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: The District Attorney' s Family Support Division must comply with Government Code §26608 to "serve all process" . All of the out of County service of process is being completed by a private process service company. As the Family Support caseload increases year to year there is a greater demand for using the outside vendor. Inability to serve all process could cause Family Supports operation to establish paternity and support orders to grind to a halt and ultimately generate a positive net county cost for the Family Support Program.
