Intent to Implement Fair Labor ) RESOLUTION NO. 95/619
Standard Act Section 7(k) Option )
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
To declare its intent to initiate operations which fall within
Section 7 (k) of the U. S. Fair Labor Standards Act (29 USCA Section 201 ff)
the Board RESOLVES and ORDERS that:
(a) The work period for the East Diablo Fire Protection
District shall be 27 days;
(b) The 27-day work period will commence at 7:30 a.m.
Tuesday, January 1, 1996, and terminate at 7:30 a.m. Sunday,
January 27, 1996, followed by successive 27-day work periods thereafter;
(c) Current Ordinance Code provisions will control the
calculation of overtime pay accrued by fire suppression employees of the Fire
Protection District; and
(d) The practice of allowing "shift trades" will continue within
the requirements of existing regulations of the Fire Protection District.
The Clerk of the Board is authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this resolution to the U. S. Department of Labor, Wage and
Hour Division, San Francisco Regional Office immediately after its adoption.
