Dear Supervisors:
I am pleased to report that effective January 12, 1996 Century customers will no longer be
billed at an hourly rate for standard installation. Instead,we have established flat rates for
standard installation which lets customers know exactly what their bill will be before they
install cable.
We're also reducing the rate charged for converter box rental from$1.86 to $1.55 for
addressable converters and from$0.96 to $0.64 for basic converters. In addition the
charge for remote control rental will be $0.09 per month. This adjustment, effective with
the billing cycle starting January 12th, reflects our commitment to hold down rising
equipment costs as much as possible. In fact, this is the first time we've had to charge for
remote control in three years.
For your records I have attached a copy of the actual notification going to all customers in
their monthly bill.
Throughout the cable industry, operations costs are rising, including programming fees,
labor costs and equipment costs. We have worked hard at Century to limit the effect of
these increases on the average bill while at the same time, offering customers a wide
variety of quality programming.
As always, if you have any questions regarding any aspect of our service, please feel free
to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Butler
