HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12121995 - U1 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring LARRY ) TODD for his 12 Years of Service to the ) RESOL UTION NO. 951(p/ Mt. Diablo Unified School District Board ) WHEREAS, Larry Todd has been involved with the Mt. Diablo Unified School District for the past 26 years, having served the last 12 as a member of the Board of Trustees; and WHEREAS, Larry has lent his.expertise to keep MD USD financially solvent through the state funding cuts that all of California's schools are experiencing; and WHEREAS, Larry's compassion for at-risk youth led him to establish a Learning Opportunity and Alternative Education program, and to improve special education curriculum and student accountability; and WHEREAS, we can also thank Larry for taking the lead to strengthen drug, discipline, and attendance policies and for implementing the Zero Tolerance program in Mt. Diablo's schools; and WHEREAS, Larry's financial talents allowed the District to utilize Measure A funds to make major renovations of deteriorating schools and grounds, to construct elementary school multi-use rooms and middle school mini-gyms, to build a new middle school with minimal cost to the taxpayers, and to negotiate the donation of property for a future elementary school. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors LARRY TODD for his 12 years of service as a Board Member to the Mt. Diablo Unified School District and wishes him continued success and happiness with his future endeavors. PASSED AND ADOPTED ON December 12, 1995, by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
