MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: December 12, 1995 SUBJECT: Approve Amendment with Chevron U.S.A. for Services at Contra Costa County-Byron Airport, Byron Area, Project AIP 3-06-0008-05 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: APPROVE Amendment to agreement with Chevron U.S.A. for services at Contra Costa County-Byron Airport and arrange for payment of additional costs. II. Financial Impact: This amendment calls for an additional payment in the amount of $70,985.72 of which 90% will be funded by the Federal Aviation Administration. The local share will be paid for out of the Airport Enterprise Fund. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: On June 8, 1993 the Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with Chevron U.S.A. for the relocation of the Chevron KLMR pipeline which crosses Airport property in a 30 foot easement. This relocation was necessary due to excavation required for grading of the new airport runways. The cost for this relocation under this agreement was for approximately $135,000. When the project was completed, the actual costs were $205,985.72. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: Payment for work that has already been completed would not be made.
