HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11071995 - C48 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, Adopted this Order on November 7, 1995 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Rogers, DeSaulnier, Torlakson and Bishop NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: Supervisor Smith In the Matter of Amending ) PMR Section 403 Qualifications ) for Veterans' Preference Points ) Resolution No. 95/545 The Board on May 15, 1995 adopted an Order which accepted a report from the Human Resources Director and approved the deletion of existing requirements under the Veterans' Preference Section of the Personnel Management Regulations that qualifying service be within the last five (5) years; and The Board directed that the Human Resources Director meet and confer with the employee organizations concerning this change; and All formally recognized employee organizations having been directly invited on June 16, 1995 to meet and confer on this action by the Labor Relations Manager and no employee organizations having exercised its option to meet and confer; NOW THEREFORE: The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as governing Board of the County of Contra Costa, and all districts of which it is the ex-officio governing Board RESOLVES THAT section 403 Qualifications for Veterans' Preference Credit of the County Personnel .Management Regulations are amended to read In order to qualify for Veterans' Preference Credit, a -person shall: (a) have (1 ) served in the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Coast Guard in time of war, in any expedition of the Armed Forces of the United States, or continuously on active duty for more than 180 days, and (2) received an honorable discharge or certificate of honorable act of service; (b) or be a disabled Veteran; (c) and present to the Director of Human Resources not later than the 'closing date specified in the examination announcement, acceptable evidence of the required military service. hereby certify thct this Is a true and correctCOpyOf an cetion tzka' a:,d cntercd on the minutes Of the Board of Supervisors on-the date Shown.
