Gilbert, Director of General Services _ COStd County DATE: October 18, 1994 ('rT'-- � C'(jUVr SUBJECT: LEASE FOR SHERIFF-CORONER SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDATION APPROVE a Lease, with Northern California Development Company (c/o Diversified Shopping Centers) , for a portion of the premises at the Oakley Town Center; 2545 Main Street, Oakley, for occupancy by the Sheriff-Coroner, under the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in said Lease, and AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services to EXECUTE said Lease on behalf of the County. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT None. Northern California Development Company will provide a furnished, turn key office at no cost to the County. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND The Sheriff's Delta Station, which serves all the unincorporated County east of Concord, is rapidly outgrowing its present location at 210 O'':Nara, Oakley. Northern California Development Company, headquartered in Sacramento, has offered free use of a store 'front in the Oakley Town Center, 2545 Main Street, Oakley. All furnishings, utilities, etc. , will be provided by Northern California Development Company. It is anticipated the Marine Patrol Bureau and part- time volunteer crime prevention program will be housed in this new annex. . This will enhance :our continuing community policing philosophy. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION Negative action will allow the Delta Station to remain crowded and provide no room for expansion of programs or additional programs .
