MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: October 18, 1994 SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Change Order No. 23 for the 1992-1 Assessment District project, Project No. 4500-6X5181-92, Danville area. Specific Request(s)or Recomnendation(s)&Background&Justification I. Recommended Action: Approve Contract Change Order No. 23 in the approximate amount of$3,500.00 and authorize the Public Works Director to execute it in order to compensate the contractor, Oliver de Silva, for work performed. II. Financial Impact: The project contingency funds are sufficient to cover this change order cost. The source of funds is Assessment District 1992-1. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The cumulative total of Contract Change Orders Nos. 1 through 23 exceeds $25,000.00, requiring Board approval. The extra work was necessary to provide curb drains and to install redwood retaining walls. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: Without approval the contractor will not receive payment for work required.
