MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: October 4, 1994 SUBJECT: Approval of project contingency fund increase and Contract Change Order No. 3 for the Camino Tassajara Realignment project, Project No. 0662-6R4181-92, Danville area Specific Request(s)or Recommendations)&Background&Justification 1. Recommended Action: Approve project contingency fund increase of$3,000.00 and Contract Change Order No. 3 in the approximate amount of$24,000.00 and authorize the Public Works Director to execute it in order to compensate the contractor, Branaugh Excavating, Inc., for additional work due to changes in design and field conditions. II. Financial Impact: The increase in the contingency fund will be by Tassajara Area of Benefit (100%). III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: Additional item increases and unforeseen extra work not on the original plan were required to complete the project. ;Because the total of Contract Change Orders 1 through 3 exceeds $25,000.00 and exceeds the project contingency fund, Board approval of the change order and the increase in the project contingency fund is required. IV.
