SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute on
. behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-171-1 with
Cristina Co, effective January 15, 1994, to amend Short Form Service i
Contract 123-171, to extend the term- of the Contract to July 15, 1994
and to increase the Contract Payment Limit by $22,998, from $23,554.50
to a new total Contract Payment Limit of $46, 552.50.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This Contract Is included in the Department's Fiscal Year 1993-94
budget, and the source of funding is Enterprise I.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
In July 1993, the County Administrator approved, and the Purchasing
Services Manager executed, Short Form Service Contract #23-171, for
the period from July 12, 1993 through January 15, 1994, for
consultation and technical assistance to the Department's Controller.
Contract Amendment Agreement #23-171-1 extends the Contractor's
services through July 15, 1994, with a corresponding increase in the
Contract Payment Limit. Board of Supervisor's approval of Contract
Amendment Agreement #23-171-1 is necessary because the increase in the
Contract Payment Limit exceeds the amount the County's Purchasing
Services Manager is authorized to approve in any twelve month period.

AMENDMENT SPECIFICATIONS
Number 23-171-1
In consideration for Contractor's agreement to provide additional
services under the Contract identified herein, County agrees to
extend the term and to increase the Contract Payment Limit. County
and Contractor agree, therefore, to amend said Contract as
specified below, while all other parts of the Contract remain
unchanged and in full force and effect.
1. Extension of Term. The term set forth in Contract
Paragraph 3 . (Term) is hereby extended from January 15, 1994 to
July 15, 1994
2 . Payment Limit Increase. The Contract Payment Limit set
forth in Contract Paragraph 5. (Payment Limit) is hereby increased
by $22,998, from $23,554.50 to a new total Payment Limit of
$46,552.50.
3 . Modification of Payment Provisions. The payment
provisions set forth in Payment Provisions Paragraph 1. (Payment
Amounts) , subparagraph d. are hereby modified by the addition of
new subparagraphs d. (4) , (5) , and (6) to read as follows:
11 (4) $1,916.50 for the period from January 16, 1994
through January 31, 1994; and
(5) $3,833.00 per month, payable at the rate of
$1,916.50 twice each month for the period from
February 1, 1994 through June 30, 1994; and
(6) $1,916.50 for the period from July 1, 1994 through
July 15, 1994. "
