MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: January 25, 1994 SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Change Order No. 8 for the KRIAD Reconstruction Project, Phase 1, Kensington area, Project No. 4500-6X5219-92 SpwAc vest or sBackground&Justification I. Recommended Action: APPROVE Contract Change Order No. 8, in the approximate amount of $6,500.00 and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute it in order to compensate the contractor, Bay Cities Paving and Grading for additional work done. II. Financial Impact: The project contingency funds are sufficient to cover the change order, costs. The source of funds is Kensington Roads Improvement Assessment District (100%). III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The total of Contract Change Orders 1 through 8 exceeds $25,000.00, requiring Board approval. Site conditions required additional work not foreseen in the design of the project. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: O The lack of Approval would preclude payment for work required.
