SUBJECT: Donation from Wells Fargo
This is to provide your office with notification and review of the
following.
In appreciation for our response to a fire at one of their offices
in Walnut Creek earlier this year, Wells Fargo plans to make a
restricted donation of $1,500 to the District for the purpose of
acquiring smoke detectors and placing them in the homes °of low-
income families . The families who would receive the smoke
detectors reside in the unincorporated areas of the County
including Bay Point and North Richmond.
Upon receiving the donation, the District will purchase the
detectors at a cost of approximately $5 each. We will coordinate
with the Property Conservation Division Neighborhood Preservation
Program* in the County Building Inspection Department to have the
smoke detectors installed. Homeowners will be notified that free
smoke detectors are available and be given a number .to call to
arrange .for the installation. Detectors will be placed in homes
on selected days when installers are available in the area.
We would like to publicly recognize Wells Fargo for the donation
, by. accopting the $1,500 at an upcoming Board of Supervisors '
meeting, possibly the meeting of December 7, 1993 .
Please contact me after your review of this matter.
