This will be the third year of funding for the Federal (Alternate Payment) Block Grant Child Care Program and the Federal Title IV-A "At Risk" Program. The State Department of Education has not as yet disclosed funding amounts for FY 94/95, but has invited current contractors to apply for continuing funding. Funding allocations for the three contracts for FY 93/94 totalled $1, 473, 146. It is anticipated that FY 94/95 funding will be approximately the same. The State General Fund Program primarily serves families who receive Child Protective Services (CPS) . The Federal Block Grant Program targets Teen Parents, children at risk of abuse and neglect, and children with special needs. The Title IV-A "At Risk" Program serves low income working families who would be "At Risk" of becoming eligible for Aid to Families of Dependent Children (AFDC) without child care subsidy. Approximately 200 families are currently receiving services under those three programs.
