To my understanding the County will not do a final inspection on the property until the Salvation Army pays $100, 000.00 to build a park in that community hence delaying the move in of many needy senior citizens. I was also told that the Salvation Army has made many code upgrades on the creek running behind the building at a large expense. I do not know all the legalities nor the County's side of the issue. I do know that many seniors are waiting, being greatly inconvenienced and some are in dangerous locations awaiting the approval of the County. One example is my Aunt. She is seventy- eight years old and lives in a very high crime, low poverty area in Richmond on Section 8 housing. She is a prisoner in her own home. She is afraid to go out or even open her door in that area. Her health has declined and she needs to be closer to relatives that live in the E1 Sobrante area to tend to her needs and doctor appointments. Surely, the County can resolve these issues with the Salvation Army without holding our senior citizens hostage. The Salvation Army is adding a greatly needed service to the community. I respectfully ask the Board to recommend that the inspection be completed immediately and let the senior citizens move in to their needed housing. Sincerely, &tea, Eu- Cindy Erickson 216 Riverside Drive Bay Point, CA 94565 3 (510) 458-0618 G , 399 uPV1SORS cc: Captainor Theme50 vka iPca P CLO, CO Envoy Clays 64- --A (1 U
