RECOMMENDATIONS A'. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 3702 supporting a request for $365,000. to the State of California, Department of Housing and Community Development, Division of Community Affairs, for the Federal Emergency Shelter Grant Program to provide funding for Contra Costa County's ..Homeless Shelter Program at the Brookside Shelter in Richmond for program operation and for the renovation and expansion of the existing facility. B. AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa to execute and transmit an application along with the necessary certifigations and assurances to the Department of Housing and Community Development for the Federal Emergency Shelter Grant Program for $365,000 for operating expenses and renovation. FISCAL IMPACT No General Funds are involved. Funds received from the Federal Emergency Shelter Grant Program would be used for shelter program and renovation costs at the Brookside Shelter. The Brookside Shelter, located in the City of Richmond, is eligible for this funding. Accordingly, in order for the State to consider the Housing Authority's FESG application, the Board of Commissioners is requested to approve a resolution certifying that the Housing Authority will comply with all of the requirements of the Federal Emergency Shelter Grant Program. THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA RESOLUTION NO. 3702 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Housing and Community Development, Division of Community Affairs, issues a Request for Proposals under the Federal Emergency Shelter Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa is' willing to accept the grant; and WHEREAS, if the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa receives a grant from the Federal Emergency Shelter Grant Program, it certifies that all uses of the funds will be in compliance with Federal Emergency Shelter Grant Program Regulations and Contract; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa -hereby . authorizes the Executive Director to execute all required certifications and to apply for the Federal - Emergency. Shelter Grant in the amount of not more than $365,000.
